Week 3 of the WTCOC21 was full of great games and surprises. There were several 5-0 final scoreboards.
Let’s begin with the classic count of matches-duels-games and then we’ll let you know some interesting facts.
- A total of 13 matches, 65 duels and 159 Carcassonne games were played.
- Of the 65 duels, 36 finalised in two games and 29 went to the third game.
- Of the 159 games, just two ended in a draw.
- Germany, Chile, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Poland are the teams that haven’t lost a match yet.
- Once again a slow game was played. In this case, it was in the duel between “Gr3yDeath” (Poland) and “Moya88” (Czech Republic). Moreover, the Czech player exceeded its time.
- Week 1 finished with just one 5-0 on the scoreboard. In contrast, this week five teams won their opponents by knockout, one of which was determined by the referees of the competition (DAZ).
- In the match between the Netherlands and Romania, players “Humske” and “IoanaFelicia” started their first game in training mode (without time limit). After having placed several tiles, the Dutch player became aware of that and mentioned it on the chat. Both players discussed it and agreed to start a new game with the right setting.
- The USA team had beaten Mexico both in the WTCOC20 and the Copa América 2020 by 5-0 and 3-2, respectively. Now Mexico took its revenge and won the USA by 4-1.
- For the first time, the five duels of a match ended in three games. This happened in the match between Mexico and the USA.
- The USA player “Mingo” (as far as I know) is the first one to freely concede a game after realising that she had run out of time.
- Portuguese player “RicardoJorgeGomes” won the 2016 world champion “Someone_you_know” in two games. Moreover, Portugal managed to win against Russia, thus becoming the match of the week.
- The Brazilian player “mgquaresma” holds the record of less time spent thinking on a game: just 2 minutes and 25 seconds.
- Greece, Spain and Lithuania/Latvia rested in this third week of the tournament.
La jornada 3 del WTCOC21 estuvo llena de grandes partidas y de varias sorpresas. Varios marcadores 5-0
Comenzamos con el tradicional conteo de partidos-duelos-juegos y continuamos con algunos datos interesantes.
- Se jugaron un total de 13 partidos, 65 duelos y 159 juegos de carcassonne.
- De los 65 duelos, 36 culminaron en 2 juegos y 29 se fueron al tercer juego.
- De los 159 juegos, solamente 2 de ellos culminaron en empate.
- Los equipos que continúan invictos son Alemania, Chile, Italia, Japón, México y Polonia.
- Nuevamente se jugó un juego en velocidad lenta, esto ocurrió en el duelo entre “Gr3yDeath” de Polonia y “Moya88” de República Checa. Además, el jugador checo excedió su tiempo.
- Contrastante al único 5-0 en la jornada 1, está semana cinco equipos lograron dejar en 0’s a su rival. Aunque uno de esos marcadores se logró en la mesa del DAZ.
- En el partido entre Holanda y Rumanía, las jugadoras “Humske” e “IoanaFelicia” comenzaron su primer juego en modo entrenamiento (sin límite de tiempo), después de varias losetas la jugadora holandesa se percató de ello y lo comentó en el chat, donde tuvieron una charla y acordaron iniciar el juego nuevamente con el tiempo adecuado.
- El seleccionado estadounidense había derrotado a México en el WTCOC20 y en la Copa América 2020 por marcadores de 5-0 y 3-2, respectivamente. Sin embargo, México logró la revancha y venció 4-1 al conjunto de USA.
- Se tiene el primer partido en el que todos los duelos se resolvieron en tres juegos, esto ocurrió en el partido entre México y USA.
- La jugadora estadounidense “Mingo”, hasta donde tengo entendido, es la primera en conceder libremente un juego al notar que su tiempo se había agotado.
- “RicardoJorgeGomes” de Portugal vence al campeón mundial de 2016 “Someone_you_know” en dos juegos. Además, Portugal logra vencer a Rusia, siendo el partido de la semana.
- El jugador brasileño “mgquaresma” tiene el récord de menor tiempo para pensar en un juego con 2 minutos y 25 segundos.
- Las selecciones de Grecia, España y Lituania/Letonia descansaron en esta tercera jornada.
