Week 4 of the WTCOC21 comes to its end. Now we are in the middle of the group stage and some teams are already starting to use the calculator to see if they still have a chance to go to the next round.
These are some of the interesting facts of the week.
- A total of 13 matches, 64 duels and 159 Carcassonne games were played. This is one duel less than usual because for the first time in the tournament a player did not appear for his duel. It happened in the match between Guatemala and the Czech Republic.
- Of the 64 duels, 32 finished in 2 games and 31 went to the third game.
- There were a total of 4 draws during this week.
- The Ukrainian team was the first one to beat Germany. And they won their 5 duels!
- Japan, the reigning champion, was also defeated for the first time in the tournament. In this case, they lost against the UK team.
- The teams that remain undefeated are Chile, Italy, Mexico and Poland.
- Of the 271 players registered in the WTCOC, only 75 players have been lined up in all possible matches.
- A total of 51 players have won all their matches, but only 21 of them have played every match.
- A total of 15 players haven’t lost any games, but only “snow_island” from Japan, “Liudeselis” from Lithuania/Latvia and “Merlin_89” from Poland have played every week and haven’t lost a single game.
- A new scoring record is registered, with a difference of 66 points in a match. This happened in the duel between “The Jack” (Italy) and “matthewsung2” (Hong Kong).
- There was a new record of fast playing. The Italian player “Redman1991” registered a thinking time of 1 minute and 51 seconds in its second game against “imlisatzeng”, from Taiwan.
- The Brazilian player “Fukuda” was replaced by “Vinny Lessa” before starting their match against France.
- This week two players won their games because their opponents ran out of time. The Ukrainian player “fanalexn” ended up with a negative chronometre and conceded the game to his German rival. In the match between Greece and Peru, the Peruvian player “spakune” claimed his victory after the Greek player “Karaman” ran out of time.
- The teams of Belarus, Poland and Chile rested on this 4th week.

Culmina la jornada 4 del WTCOC21 y estamos a la mitad de la fase de grupos por lo que algunos equipos ya empiezan a sacar la calculadora para ver si aún tienen posibilidades de pasar a la siguiente ronda.
Estos son algunos de los datos interesantes de la semana.
- Se jugaron un total de 13 partidos, 64 duelos y 159 juegos de carcassonne. Un duelo menos que lo usual pues por primera vez en el torneo un jugador no se presenta a su duelo. Esto sucedió en el partido entre Guatemala vs República Checa.
- De los 64 duelos, 32 culminaron en 2 juegos y 31 se fueron al tercer juego.
- Hubo un total de 4 empates durante la jornada.
- El conjunto ucraniano le quita el invicto al seleccionado alemán al ganarles 5-0.
- El actual campeón, Japón, perdió el invicto al caer ante el equipo de Reino Unido.
- Los equipos que continúan invictos son Chile, Italia, México y Polonia.
- De los 271 jugadores inscritos en el mundial solamente 75 jugadores han sido alineados todos los partidos posibles.
- Un total de 51 jugadores han ganado todos sus duelos pero sólo 21 de ellos han jugado todas las jornadas.
- Un total de 15 jugadores no han perdido ningún juego pero solamente “snow_island” de Japón, “Liudeselis” de Lituania/Letonia y “Merlin_89” de Polonia han jugado todas las semanas y no han perdido ningún juego.
- Se registra un nuevo récord con una diferencia de 66 puntos en un partido. Esto ocurrió la jornada pasada en el duelo entre “The Jack” de Italia y “matthewsung2” de Hong Kong.
- Un jugador aún más veloz aparece. Se trata del italiano “Redman1991” quien registró un tiempo de pensar de 1 minuto con 51 segundos en el segundo juego contra “imlisatzeng” de Taiwán.
- El jugador “Fukuda” de Brasil fue sustituido por “Vinny Lessa”, antes de iniciar el encuentro contra Francia.
- Esta semana se ganan dos juegos por tiempo. El primero ocurrió en el partido de Ucrania vs Alemania en el que el ucraniano “fanalexn”, al quedar con tiempo negativo, concedió el juego. El otro ocurrió en el partido entre Grecia vs Perú en el que el peruano “spakune” pidió ganar el juego al acabarse el tiempo al jugador “Karaman”.
- Las selecciones de Bielorrusia, Polonia y Chile descansaron en esta cuarta jornada.
