Now that the first week of WTCOC 2021 is over, our collaborator from Mexico, Marco Rivas, presents us a summary with curious and interesting facts that took place.

  • A total of 14 matches, 70 duels and 174 Carcassonne games were played.
  • Of the 70 duels, 36 finalised in 2 games and 34 went to the third game.
  • Of the 174 games, 7 ended in a draw.
  • The opening match of the WTCOC was Guatemala vs. Spain and the first game to finish was won by the Spanish team.
  • The first tie occurred in the third game of the duel between the Catalan player “Pronom feble” and the English player “ted the notty bear”; the English player won the game and the duel.
  • The first player that lose for running out of time was “The Jack”, from Italy, but despite losing that game he won his duel.
  • The only match in which all duels finalised in two games was Guatemala vs. Spain.
  • In this first week there were two replacements in the alignments. In the Russia vs. Taiwan match, “BBKosta” replaced “Mikhail-rus”, who was suspended by BGA, and the change was accepted by Taiwan; while in the Ukraine vs. Brazil match, “Rodrigo Amorim” replaced “mgquaresma” for justified reasons.
  • Japan began to defend its first place in the last championship by winning 5-0 against the Belarus team with a great match.
  • The longest game was between Belgium player “Bids” against Czech Republic player “Moya88”, which lasted 40 minutes 35 seconds. This was possible because the game was opened at the wrong speed.
  • In the Greece vs. Argentina match, one of the games was restarted after being opened at the wrong speed.
  • The game with the biggest scoring difference was between “NaOH” and “sephirot83”, whose score was 141-76 in favor of the Chinese player.
  • The Chilean national team got its revenge against the Colombian team, with respect to the Copa América 2020. In addition, three out of five duels that took place on that occasion were repeated.
  • The second game between the Ukrainian “Samuelsson” and the Brazilian “Trompowsky” finished in a tie; although the Brazilian player had opened the game, he was declared winner because the Ukrainian player run out of time.
  • Germany and Mexico teams rested in the first round.

Una vez terminada la primera semana del WTCOC 2021 nuestro colaborador de México, Marco Rivas, nos presenta un resumen con los datos curiosos e interesantes que se han producido.

  • Se jugaron un total de 14 partidos, 70 duelos y 174 juegos de carcassonne.
  • De los 70 duelos, 36 culminaron en 2 juegos y 34 se fueron al tercer juego.
  • De los 174 juegos, 7 de ellos culminaron en empate.
  • El partido inaugural del WTCOC fue el de Guatemala vs España, en donde el primer juego en terminar lo ganó el seleccionado español.
  • El primer empate durante el mundial ocurrió en el tercer juego del duelo entre la jugadora catalana “Pronom Feble” y el jugador inglés  “ted the notty bear”, resultando ganador del juego y del duelo el jugador inglés.
  • El primer juego que se pierde por tiempo es el de “The Jack” de Italia, pero a pesar de perder tal juego ganó su duelo.
  • El único partido que culminó todos sus duelos en dos juegos fue el de Guatemala vs España.
  • En esta jornada hubo dos sustituciones en las alineaciones. En el partido de Rusia vs Taiwán, “BBKosta” sustituye a “Mikhail-rus” quién fue suspendido por la BGA, el cambio fue aceptado por Taiwán. Mientras que en el partido de Ucrania vs Brasil, “Rodrigo Amorim” sustituye a “mgquaresma”  por razones justificadas.
  • Japón inicia la defensa de su campeonato ganando 5-0 al conjunto de Bielorrusia, cuyo seleccionado dio un gran encuentro.
  • El juego más largo fue entre el jugador de Bélgica “Bids” contra el jugador de República Checa “Moya88”, y duró 40 minutos con 35 segundos. Esto debido a que el juego se abrió en la velocidad incorrecta.
  • En el partido de Grecia vs Argentina, uno de los juegos se volvió a iniciar debido a que se había abierto en la velocidad incorrecta.
  • El juego que tuvo mayor diferencia en el marcador fue entre “NaOH” y “sephirot83”, cuyo marcador fue de 141-76 en favor del jugador chino. 
  • El seleccionado chileno obtiene su revancha contra el cuadro colombiano, respecto a la Copa América 2020. Además, se repiten tres de los cinco duelos que se tuvieron en tal ocasión.
  • En el segundo juego entre el ucraniano “Samuelsson” y el brasileño “Trompowsky”, empatan el marcador y la victoria sería para el jugador ucraniano; sin embargo, debido a que el tiempo se le terminó se declara victoria para el jugador brasileño.
  • Las selecciones de Alemania y México descansaron en esta primera jornada.
