Week 2 of the WTCOC21 started with a sad event: the Chinese team was disqualified for violating several rules of the competition. However, on Thursday we received wonderful news: Carcassonne publisher Hans im Glück and the responsible institution for Carcassonne tournaments Spielezentrum are now supporting the WTCOC and they recognise it as an official tournament.
Now, here you have some curiosities of the week:
- A total of 13 matches, 65 duels and 157 Carcassonne games were played.
- Of the 65 duels, 38 finalised in 2 games and 27 went to the third game.
- Of the 157 games, 6 ended in a draw.
- Just 9 out of the 29 participating teams in the competition haven’t lost a match yet.
- The current WTCOC champion suffered to achieve its second victory against a combative Peruvian team that, in its second debut in the competition, fought bravely until the last game.
- Something weird happened in the Portugal vs. Taiwan match, in which the third game of the duel between “RicardoJorgeGomes” and “HotlyHotly” took a long time to start.
- The 2017 world champion, Polish player “UY-Scuti”, was defeated by JinaJina, from Belgium, in two games. This was the big surprise of the week.
- In the match Spain vs. Mexico, the second game of the duel between “MadCan” and “Osvaldo Del Arco” had to be restarted because the revenge option hadn’t been clicked.
- After the disqualification of the Chinese team, the game with the biggest scoring difference was “Vainiria” (Chile) vs. “zaharik” (Ukraine), whose score was 101-37 in favour of the Chilean player.
- We could see a great show of fair play and an example of how the “time rule” should be applied in the WTCOC. Guatemalan player “Charly Money Go”, who was experiencing some trouble with his Internet connection, asked USA player “carky” if they could continue playing regardless having exceeded the time by almost one minute, and “carky” agreed to proceed with the game. It is worth mentioning that the duel was won by the Guatemalan player.
- UK, Czech Republic and Brazil teams rested during this second week of the tournament.
La jornada 2 del WTCOC21 inició con una triste noticia, el seleccionado chino fue descalificado por violar varias de las normas. Sin embargo, una gran noticia se dio a conocer el jueves diciendo que la editorial alemana Hans im Glück y la institución que organiza los torneos de carcassonne Spielezentrum, se han sumado a apoyar el WTCOC y lo reconocen como torneo oficial.
Sin más, las curiosidades de la semana:
- Se jugaron un total de 13 partidos, 65 duelos y 157 juegos de carcassonne.
- De los 65 duelos, 38 culminaron en 2 juegos y 27 se fueron al tercer juego.
- De los 157 juegos, 6 de ellos culminaron en empate.
- De los 29 equipos que participan en el mundial, solamente 9 de ellos van invictos.
- El actual campeón del WTCOC sufrió para obtener su segunda victoria ante un aguerrido equipo peruano que, en su segundo debut en el mundial, peleo hasta el último juego.
- Algo extraño sucedió en el partido entre Portugal vs Taiwan donde el tercer juego del duelo entre “RicardoJorgeGomes” y “HotlyHotly” tardó demasiado tiempo en iniciar.
- El polaco, campeón mundial de 2017, “UY-Scuti” fue derrotado por JinaJina, de Bélgica, en dos juegos. Siendo la sorpresa de la semana.
- En el partido de España vs México, el segundo juego del duelo entre “MadCan” y “Osvaldo Del Arco” se volvió a iniciar debido a que se había abierto sin la opción de revancha.
- Ante la descalificación del equipo chino, el nuevo juego que tuvo mayor diferencia en el marcador fue entre “Vainiria” de Chile y “zaharik” de Ucrania, cuyo marcador fue de 101-37 en favor del jugador chileno.
- Se da una gran muestra de fair play y de cómo se debe aplicar la regla del tiempo en el mundial. El jugador guatemalteco “Charly Money Go”, quien estaba teniendo problemas de conexión, le avisa al jugador estadounidense “carky” si podían continuar con el juego ya que su tiempo negativo era de casi un minuto, a lo que “carky” responde que pueden continuar. Cabe señalar que tal duelo lo ganó el jugador de Guatemala.
- Las selecciones de Reino Unido, República Checa y Brasil descansaron en esta segunda jornada.
