WTCOC21 group stage ends and we are full of emotions. On one hand, we are happy for the teams that go to the second round but also sad for those that remain on the road. However, we are satisfied with the great games that were in this first stage and eager to continue the knockout phase.
Without further ado, these are some interesting facts of the week.
- A total of 13 matches, 65 duels and 158 carcassonne games were played.
- Of the 65 duels, 38 culminated in two games and 27 went to the third game.
- There was one more game over the week and it was the one that was pending between Moya88 from the Czech Republic against Ledacri from Spain, and the Czech player retained the victory.
- There were only 2 draws.
- Of the 271 players registered for the World Cup, only 39 have been lined up in all possible matches and 28 players have not participated in the group stage.
- A total of 24 players won all their matches but only estroncio from Spain, game__over from Romania, TerranPL from Poland and Liudesellis from Lithuania / Latvia have also played every match.
- A total of 9 players have not lost a game but only Lithuania / Latvia’s Liudeselis remains totally undefeated.
- The national teams of Germany, Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Catalonia, Colombia, France, Guatemala, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Poland, Romania, Taiwan and Ukraine have lined up all their players.
- Poland is the only undefeated team from the group stage.
- The points difference record is broken. The first game between the Russian Someone_you_know and the Italian GiulioTm had a score of 131-64, which gives a difference of 67 points.
- There were a total of 5 matches that ended 5-0.
- Poland does not want to be left behind in records during this World Cup, and they also have the fastest player. In the second game between UY-Scuti and MadCan, the Polish player only used 1 minute and 42 seconds of his thinking time.
- Japan is the only first seed to qualify directly for the quarterfinals and no group leaders have been eliminated.
- Of the 12 qualified teams, three won 6 games, four won 5 games, and five won 4 games.
- The teams of Argentina, Taiwan and Chile are eliminated despite having won 4 games.
- In the match between Argentina and the United Kingdom, all the duels culminate in the second game.
- The first knock-out match that was set was that of Mexico vs Russia, both first seeds in their groups.
- In the second game of the duel between Stefan Ragnarsson from Guatemala and manarori from Mexico, the Guatemalan player ran out of time and the Mexican player asked to concede the game by refusing to play a third game.
- The teams of Japan, Belgium and Ukraine rested on this seventh round.

Termina la fase de grupos del WTCOC21 y estamos llenos de emociones. Por un lado, estamos contentos por los equipos que pasan a la segunda ronda pero también tristes por los que se quedan en el camino. Sin embargo, estamos satisfechos por los grandes juegos que hubo en está primera etapa y ansiosos por seguir la fase de knockout.
Sin más, estos son algunos datos interesantes de la semana.
- Se jugaron un total de 13 partidos, 65 duelos y 158 juegos de carcassonne.
- De los 65 duelos, 38 culminaron en dos juegos y 27 se fueron al tercer juego.
- Hubo un juego más durante la semana y fue el que estaba pendiente entre Moya88 de República Checa contra Ledacri de España, y conservó la victoria el jugador checo.
- Solamente hubo 2 empates durante la jornada.
- De los 271 jugadores inscritos en el mundial solamente 39 han sido alineados todos los partidos posibles y 28 jugadores no han tenido participación en la fase de grupos.
- Un total de 24 jugadores ganaron todos sus duelos pero solamente estroncio de España, game__over de Rumanía, TerranPL de Polonia y Liudesellis de Lituania/Letonia también han jugado todas las jornadas.
- Un total de 9 jugadores no han perdido ningún juego pero solamente Liudeselis de Lituania/Letonia se mantiene como invicto total.
- Las selecciones de Alemania, Argentina, Bielorrusia, Brasil, Cataluña, Colombia, Francia, Guatemala, Holanda, Hungría, Italia, Japón, Polonia, Rumanía, Taiwán y Ucrania han alineado a todos sus jugadores.
- Polonia es el único equipo invicto de la fase de grupos.
- Se rompe el récord de diferencia de puntos. El primer juego entre el ruso Someone_you_know y el italiano GiulioTm tuvo marcador de 131-64, lo que da una diferencia de 67 puntos.
- Hubo un total de 5 partidos que culminaron 5-0.
- Polonia no se quiere quedar atrás en récords, durante este mundial, y también tienen a un jugador muy veloz. En el segundo juego entre UY-Scuti y MadCan, el jugador polaco solamente utilizó 1 minuto y 42 segundos de su tiempo de pensar.
- Japón es el único cabeza de grupo que califica directo a cuartos de final y ningún cabeza de grupo ha sido eliminado.
- De los 12 equipos calificados, tres ganaron 6 partidos, cuatro ganaron 5 partidos y cinco ganaron 4 partidos.
- Las selecciones de Argentina, Taiwán y Chile quedan eliminados a pesar de haber ganado 4 partidos.
- En el partido entre Argentina y Reino Unido todos los duelos culminan en el segundo juego.
- El primer cruce que se definió fue el de México vs Rusia. Ambos cabezas de serie.
- En el segundo juego del duelo entre Stefan Ragnarsson de Guatemala y manarori de México, el jugador guatemalteco se quedó sin tiempo y el jugador mexicano pidió que concediera el juego negándose a jugar un tercer juego.
- Las selecciones de Japón, Bélgica y Ucrania descansaron en esta séptima jornada.
